Partnership with the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI)
The Infochange has a partnership agreement with the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Pakistan’s leading thinktank and development research institute dedicated to catalysing and supporting sustainable development within Pakistan and across South Asia, including programmes on Sustainable livelihoods, social sector development, and governance. SDPI maintains close engagement with policymakers and practitioners across all relevant sectors, including government, NGOs, and international organisations.
Under the Partnership, both partner institutions (Infochange and SDPI) envision supporting and strengthening the bilateral development for implementing their common objectives. Both partners agree to work together in the following fields of common interest:
- Both institutes can submit a joint proposal to development partners for Research, Advocacy, and Capacity Building.
- Joint organisation and participation in training, seminars, conferences, workshops, and academic and professional meetings.
- To provide mentorship and learning opportunities for students and young professionals interested in a research partnership, report writing, peer review, and joint policy dialogues benefiting the parties.
- Development of virtual institutional linkages via websites.
- Representing mutual perspectives at meetings, seminars, conferences.
Both Infochange and SDPI have already submitted joint funding proposals to donors and their experts are jointly working on the areas of mutual interest.
Strategic Partnership with Journalists for Democracy and Human Rights (JDHR)
Infochange (Pvt) Limited was emerged from, and amassed the experience and expertise of ‘Journalists for Democracy and Human Rights (JDHR)- a think-tank and a countrywide network of journalists, columnists, communications, development professionals and Public Relations practitioners. The JDHR worked from 1998 till mid 2009 as an informal network and a provisionally registered NGO with Islamabad Capital Territory Administration; and later on, it was formally registered in September 2009.
Immediate after incorporation of Infochange (Pvt.) Limited with the SECP in July 2009, the key leadership and experts of the company formally got registered the ‘Journalists for Democracy and Human Rights (JDHR)’ as civil society organisation on the 4 th of September 2009 with the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance 1961. JDHR has been a unique network which has its links into South Asian and Southeast Asian media and communications individuals and organisations.
